Barbary lions are all extinct in the wild and only approximately 400 in captivity.  A male lion's roar can be heard for 5 miles.  Lions are social animals and live in prides.  Our lions are named Kovu and Kiara, both abandoned cubs.  Born in August 1999 Kovu experienced some health problems early in his life, but has grown into a beautiful lion.  Kiara is our female lion and was born in July 2002.
